Heat is generated only to the pan and no heat is lost. Since there are no open flames, induction is safer to use than conventional burners. This 3400 watt cooktop features SmartScan technology, which automatically recognizes voltage, pan size and type. The SR- 343R has a large, LED power/temp display, touch- sensitive controls and a simple knob thermostat which simplifies operation. The 5mm thick cooktop and stainless steel body is designed to withstand heavy, repeated use. Choose from two cooking modes: power and temperature. The temperature mode has a range of 90 to 440 degrees Fahrenheit and there are 20 levels in the power mode. This cooktop has CETL / NSF- 4 sanitary certifications for commercial use. For easy cleaning, Sunpentown recommends using a cleaner that is rated for glass cooktops.
